Leonard Fichter, DO
Wound Care & Hyperbaric Medicine
Dr. Leonard Fichter is our dedicated wound care physician and the Medical Director. With 36 years of experience in treating complex wounds and over a decade specializing in hyperbaric medicine, Dr. Fichter brings exceptional expertise and compassionate care to our patients.
As a board-certified general surgeon, Dr. Fichter seamlessly integrates his surgical skills into our outpatient clinic setting, ensuring that each patient receives comprehensive, tailored treatment. His approach is holistic, addressing not only the wounds but also the underlying causes to prevent future health issues.
Dr. Fichter’s professional affiliations highlight his commitment to excellence and ongoing education. He is associated with the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery, the Association for the Advancement of Wound Care, the Undersea & Hyperbaric Medical Society, and the American College of Phlebology as well as other osteopathic professional organizations.
Dr. Fichter excels at creating a comfortable environment for his patients. His extensive experience has equipped him with a deep understanding of patient concerns, enabling him to address them effectively and compassionately.

Shannon Kirkpatrick, RN, MSN, WCN

Shannon Kirkpatrick, MSN, RN, COCN, WCN began her nursing career in 2005, and began specializing in Wound and Ostomy care in 2010. Shannon received her Wound and Ostomy Care training at Emory University in Atlanta. She comes to Northwest Florida Wound Care & Hyperbaric Center from Riverside Regional Medical Center, a Level 2 Trauma center, in Newport News, VA where she served as the Lead Enterostomal Therapy Nurse. Shannon received her Master of Science in Nursing: Health Administration from Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA. She is a member of the WOCN and Baromedical Nurses Association.
Aaron Wilson, CHT, EMT

Aaron Wilson brings extensive experience and expertise to his position at Northwest Florida Wound Care & Hyperbaric Center, having started his career in 2007. He has garnered vast knowledge of both multiplace and monoplace chamber operation, safety, and maintenance. Aaron is well-versed in emergency and critical hyperbaric care and in daily patient and wound care. Formerly, Aaron worked in hyperbaric tunneling on the Alaskan Way Viaduct Project in Seattle, Washington and on the Staten Island Siphon Project in Staten Island, New York. Since 2004, Aaron has taken part in cutting edge hyperbaric research. In addition to designation as a Certified Hyperbaric Technologist, Aaron is also a Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician and a member of Undersea Hyperbaric Medicine Society (UHMS).
Kim Bean, BSN, RN

Kim Bean, BSN, RN has excelled as a nurse since 2014 and as a certified nursing assistant for the since 2016. She earned her Associate Degree in Nursing from Gulf Coast State College in 2011 and her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Gulf Coast State College in 2016. She joins Northwest Florida Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center with vast knowledge of wound and geriatric care.
